Caroni Bird Sanctuary

Caroni Bird Sanctuary

Home to Trinidad and Tobago’s national bird and other amazing fauna and flora, several photographers and couples swear by this picturesque site for an amazing engagement photo shoot experience. Rent a boat, and explore the swamp with your partner while taking in the sights, sounds, and aromas that emanate out of over 12,000 acres of marshland, tidal lagoons, and mangrove trees. Here is Crystal:

“Where in the world, can you get a more breath-taking backdrop? Mangroves on either side creates the perfect panaromic view. It’s also ultra-romantic.”

Fort George

Location: Port of Spain

Imagine an unparalleled view of St James and the Gulf of Paria littered with cannons dated as far back as the 1800s. With such a view and the attention given to you by your photographer, you will feel like the King and Queen of the world. While the sunset is amazing at the Fort, it’s worth noting that Fort George closes at 5:30pm, so make sure you plan to suit.

Anita was super excited to tell us about Fort George:

"I really liked the idea of the location, it overlooks the west coast, and it wasn’t a conventional location for a photoshoot. To me there are no hindrances to get the perfect lighting, and don’t get me started on the sunset! The scenery is simply amazing."

Toco Light House

Overlooking Galera Point, the Toco Light House is a national treasure. The site located on the north- east coast of the island has many different areas that engaged couples can capture some amazing photography.

Raven tells her piece:

“Behind the lighthouse lies one of the most captivating experiences of raw nature. The sounds of the waves, the rocks in their raw state, and the wind makes for the most electrifying nature engagement photo shoots.”

University of the West Indies

So several of our friends told us that they took their engagement photo shoot at the University of the West Indies (UWI). UWI has many gorgeous sites to take photos such as several open fields and gorgeous buildings such as the old admin building. Many of the couples that utilised UWI, went to the tertiary education institution and many even met there, like our friend Melissa:

“So my fiance and I met at UWI, and we thought what better way to celebrate our engagement. So we went back to UWI and sat under a large tree to the front of UWI, and my word, did it make for a fantastic photo.”

Wild Flower Park

Sometimes we just want to keep it simple and beautiful. In times like these and you want to go to the west, the Wild Flower Park in St. Clair will be calling your name.

Well this was our friend’s Petal case:

"I always loved that park. It’s quite serene and undisturbed… The surrounding everything! It’s always so well-manicured."

Abandoned Church, Chaguaramas

Have you ever noticed the old abandoned church before the bamboo cathedral? Well, my-oh-my photos that photographers capture at this venue tend to be quite breath-taking. However, one thing that you should note, is that to take photos in the Chaguaramas area, you may need to get a permit to do so from the Chaguaramas Development Authority (CDA)

Olivia, tells us why she likes this venue:

“Well I just had to have my engagement photo shoot here. The old church just gave a vintage look to our photos. Don’t forget the surroundings, its rustic yet extraordinarily beautiful for nature lovers.”

Bamboo Cathedral, Chaguaramas

The Bamboo Cathedral in Chaguaramas is a truly unique and beautiful location for an engagement photoshoot. The cathedral, which is made entirely of bamboo, has a natural, rustic look that is unlike any other venue. Its open, airy design and beautiful gardens provide a serene and peaceful setting for photos.

In addition to its natural beauty, the Bamboo Cathedral also offers a variety of backdrops for photos, including gardens, ponds, and bamboo forests. This makes it a versatile location that can accommodate a wide range of photoshoot styles and themes.

One couple who used the Bamboo Cathedral for their engagement photoshoot had this to say:

"We knew we wanted something a little unconventional for our photoshoot, and the Bamboo Cathedral was the perfect choice. The natural beauty of the venue really shone through in our photos, and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out."
